Navajo tale

A Navajo grandfather once told his grandson "Two wolves live inside me. One is the bad wolf, full of greed and laziness, full of anger and jealousy and regret. The other is the good wolf, full of joy and compassion and willingness and a great love for the world. All the time these wolves are fighting inside me."

"But Grandfather," the boy said. "Which wolf will win?"

The grandfather answered, "The one I feed."

Peace Cereal

I was going through old magazines today cutting out items of interest to generate some new thoughts and inspirations.

I came across an ad for a product called Peace Cereal. While it looks like great food, my real interest is the site holds many ideas for creating peace in your heart, in your home and in the world.

Morning is the most peaceful time for me. Before my mind starts to wander all over the place. There is something that I really enjoy about being the first one up in the morning. The sound of the coffee dripping as I sit thinking about nothing in particular. The day has such potential at this time in the morning. How can I change the world today?

One of the coolest things that I have ever been to is the Peace Museum in Chicago. It is just what it says, museum dedicated to peace through the arts. They have some absolutely awsome stuff in their. 2 tops on my list were the original lyrics to Sunday Bloody Sunday handwritten on notebook bpaper and the Martin guitar that John Lennon used when he wrote Imagine. I can still see it in my mind, on a stand inside I plexiglass case. We talked to the guy at the desk and he said that he actually got to pack it up in its case when the museum moved........ He said it was a real rush..... I found a picture...

these are my images of peace

At least, my interpritation

and heres a poem or two...

Not To Brag, But I Ended World War II

Bring those boys home, we’ll show them how to run a war
But what for? Red white and blue disguise, surprise!
Hits harder than menthol but don’t fall
Slow it down to a crawl
Fill up the coffee cup, praise for a story
Abrupt…
Ending? Its pending, suspending
Depending on the youth, you want truth?
The youth is born today wearing yesterdays suits
We start out as radical, sabbatical
Ready to start the lateral change
But on the time line it changed
Its strange, the sniper range scope Where is the hope?
Lost in dope
Cope…
For one moment, freeze it, own it
Freeze, let the breeze take control
If the revolutions now then tell me how
When did we lose the spirit? Or how did we fear it?
Throw it out because its cold, now the metling pot
Fits the mold, when the youth hits 20
They starting growing old
They said “wars no fun, make it all done”
Then they get obs with badges and guns
Explain it to me, maybe I’m too blind to see
That in the land of opportunity
Society keeps up thinking safe
But in reality, we are all free
Free…

Mental Stimultion

Broken down, dead, decrepit
Cadaverous system of education
Information of mental stimulation
Mutilation of mental freedom
Where am I coming from?
A dark day, early on
With the president gone
A song from the voice
A new histories dawn
The flag has been swiped,
Washed out and wiped
The majority sniped
Down with the sound
Of 300 rounds
Drop down to the ground
A banner hung from a wall
Another statues that falls
Pulled down by the kids
Once owned by the mall
A black flag, red star
Another bomb in a car
The oil companies far
Away from all of us
So tell me who can I trust?
Upon the earth and its crust?
While the leaders are burning
All the people to dust
In the clouds, through the arch
Into heaven we will march

-Chortle
